| Example: Fiber drawing
process Project
A leading manufacturer of medical optical fibers required real-time process control
software to automate production. Involved integration of dual laser micrometers, precise
motor speed and temperature monitoring and closed loop (PID) control, continuous data
logging and statistical analysis. Separate post-process high-throughput laser-based
inspection program also required.
Result
We worked closely with company engineers to design a complete integrated process
control system. The software is highly configurable, facilitating R&D work. Stored
"recipes" make it easy to use for production operations.
Dramatic increase in yield and quality of fiber from fully automated production towers
and 100% inspection. Competitive advantage, lowered costs.
